PATRICKS ARE HOMECREST OWNERS
Largest Appliance Dealer In County

    Providing Louisa with one of the best hardware and appliance stores in the area has been the goal of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patrick Sr.

    The Patricks came to Wapello from Kenosha,, Wis., and purchased the Homecrest store from Butler Bros. in Jan. 1949. Butlers had purchased it from Ray Rukgaber, who operated the store for many years

    Patrick gained thirteen years of experience as assistant manager of the large Sears, Roebuck stores at Kenosha and Sheboygan, Wis. He is a naval veteran of WW II.

    Mr. and Mrs. Patrick have three children: Joe, 21, who is a member of the U. S. Army reserve and an employee of the store; Sharon, 19, in nurse’s training; and Tom, 14.

    Patricks have the most complete line of appliances in the county, having been awarded the Frigidaire Service Merit Award three times. They also carry Speed Queen, Roper, General Electric appliances. Other brand names are DuPont paints, Youngstown kitchens, Rapid Therm bottle gas, and Browning shotguns, Delta power tools, plumbing and electrical fixtures, and a complete china and gift shop.

    They have improved the large store in many ways, including installing new light fixtures in the past few years.

    They maintain a complete appliance service department, and carry the slogan, “Only the Best at Homecrest.”

    Employees are Vera Darby, Ray Rosauer, Harry Scheihing and Joe Patrick.
