RADIO STATION KWPC MUSCATINE

    Radio station K W P C, located in Muscatine, IA serves the Wapello community very satisfactory. Not only as to entertainment, but also on broad casting all the up to the minute news and sport casting.

    The station has a frequency of 860 kc. During the daytime and after sun-down the FM circuit is used on 99.7 mc. Both frequencies are exceptionally free from interference in this locality and the programs are enjoyed throughout southeastern Iowa and north western Illinois.

    The station is owned by George Volger and his wife Thelma Volger, both of Muscatine. K W P C first went on the air in January of 1947 with the AM circuit and the FM circuit was added a year later.

    Mr. Volger is past president of the Iowa Tall Corn network which consists of 14 stations throughout the state of Iowa.
