FOUNDATION OF F. B. BUILDING PART OF OLD HOTEL
Also A Part Of Old Opera House

    Few people are aware that where the grade school building now stands, a beautiful structure once stood which was to be the finest hotel in the middle west. It was a four story brick building constructed during the ‘50’s when Wapello was flush with the prospect of the Old Airline railroad.

    The hotel gradually crumbled away and all of the cut stone in construction of Myron Hall, many years later, was a part of the big hotel which was to be the pride of the middle west.

    But, Myron Hall, also through the years, became badly delapadated and all that was left was the memories of some of the greatest entertainers of the times who appeared there in various shows and concerts.

    The building was remodeled and today is the office of the Farm Bureau, with nothing remaining of historical value except
