State Historical Society Library of Iowa

*This library is not located in Linn County, but holds many resources specific to genealogy research Linn County and much of Eastern Iowa.  The Iowa City branch is in neighboring Johnson County, only a 30 minute drive from Linn County.  One of the most useful resources is the very large newspaper collection ranging from 1836 to the present and representing many communities from this area.
