The girl on the right is my husband's grandmother Myrtle Althea Came, born in Prairiesburg, Iowa, Sept. 4, 1872, married in 1895 and left Linn County. She looks to me to be in her late teens or early 20's; so I am guessing the picture was taken 1888-1894. I have no idea who the other girls are, but if anyone can identify a relative and wants a copy, I can scan the picture. Photos submitted by: Judy Anderson, Dunnellon, Florida, JudyMac59@aol.com |

Gus Straight "Something I found at an estate sale here in Tulsa OK! The attachment is a news clipping from the 'Cedar Rapids Gazette' 18 June, 1948 showing a Mr. Gus Straight, from Shellsburg, age 87, dairyman etc. I know Shellsburg is in Benton Co, and I have submitted it to them. But apparently this family had connections in Linn Co. too." Submitted by Mary Neff |
