Myrtle Came with friend.

The girl on the right is my husband's grandmother Myrtle Althea Came, born in Prairiesburg, Iowa, Sept. 4, 1872, married in 1895 and left Linn County. She looks to me to be in her late teens or early 20's; so I am guessing the picture was taken 1888-1894. I have no idea who the other girls are, but if anyone can identify a relative and wants a copy, I can scan the picture.

John M. Pfautz
Jacob's son, John, had the big beautiful home on School Street with the rock wall near the school that shows up in many of the Lisbon/Linn County books - that was unfortunately burned to clear land for the school.

Gus Straight "Something I found at an estate sale here in Tulsa OK!  The attachment is a news clipping from the 'Cedar Rapids Gazette' 18 June, 1948 showing a Mr. Gus Straight, from Shellsburg, age 87, dairyman etc. I know Shellsburg is in Benton Co, and I have submitted it to them. But apparently this family had connections in Linn Co. too."

"He was my half-brother. It isn't exactly accurate because the information came from his long time girlfriend not a family member, but it is close. He actually had 7 half-brothers and 4 half sisters. His father didn't die until 1946."
