PERSINGER, LOW, LOWE,
Allan Griffith
magriffy@comcast.net

I have an extensive data-file built up on this family - shown in 1854 as A. Persinger - he was Abraham and they were at Lee Co. from the late 1840s thru the mid 1870s.    I think some of the children remained nearby after he and his wife moved further west to McPherson County, Kansas by the mid 1870s.    I'm happy to share my work with others & hope to find more on this Persinger family.    Abe migrated first to Ripley Co, Indiana from Virginia.  Abraham Persinger, born 1810 at Virginia (probably part that is now WV) moved to Ripley Co, Indiana by 1820s where he married Rachel Low(e) in 1830. By 1847 they'd moved their family to Lee County, Iowa. Abe has listed 3 occupations: Hotel Owner, Physician & Farmer. They remained at Lee County, Iowa until the mid 1870s when he moved to Kansas. I believe but cannot prove that one of his sons, James William Persinger born 1831 and his wife, Elizabeth died at Lee County in the 1860s.
