Many families crossed the county borders before settling in one county or another.  People living in Lee Co. are known to have married in
Missouri, as early as 1870. Often the closest Court House was across a county line. You may find vital records in another county. 

It would be a good idea to check the neighboring counties for your Surnames before leaving this site. All Iowa counties have a search engine on their sites.

Iowa Family Group Sheets    Statewide Project.  To find the Lee Co entries, do a Search for Lee.  This will give you the Lee Co entries, and I'm sorry to say, all Iowa families with the surname Lee.
