Services at St. Barnabus: The evening services at the above church on Easter Sunday evening was very impressive. In accordance with custom the church was decorated with potted plants, lent for the occasion from the Conservatory of Mrs. Zack OWENS. The services were conducted by the Rev. R. C. MCILWAIN, assisted by W. P. UPHAM, while Messrs Frank LEBRON, Theodore ENGLISH, Melrose WILSON and C. NOELHE, of the brotherhood of St. Andrews, assisted the local choir in rendering some splendid music. The singing was of high order, the noticeable features were the solo parts in the “TeDeum” ably rendered by Miss Florence ELLIS and Theodore ENGLISH. The offertory solo, by Melrose WILSON was rendered in that gentleman's best manner. The sermon by the Rev. R. C .MCILWAIN was one of his best efforts in Montrose and held the closest attention of the congregation. The recessional by Theodore ENGLISH demonstrated the fact that that gentleman is an organist of more than ordinary ability. In view of the fierce and vary disagreeable storm, the local members of the church feel especially grateful to the contingent from Keokuk for braving the elements in order to make the services here a fitting observance of this great day in the church. The visitors were entertained at luncheon by Mr. and Mrs. John KIEL after the services.
