We understand that the Mormons have bought up many of the Half Breed Claims, and
that a gentleman, well acquainted with the subject, is attempting to secure for
them all the genuine claims, to this beautiful tract of country. If this can be
done, the Mormons can partition it among themselves and a great amount of
litigation may thus be avoided. We understand that many of the Mormons are now
making farms on this tract and that Rigdon has bought the beautiful residence of
Dr. Galland, opposite Montrose.

Illinois)
