I was researaching your IOWA page for my families' history.  I have some additional information for an entry.

Place of birth may be Fort Madison. 

 

My grandfather, Morgan, George Henry, Jr   b. Jul 6, 1885 at Fort Madison, IOWA,  so it may be possible that Ernest was also born there.  The family started travel to California by Covered Wagon when my grandfather George Henry Morgan, Jr. was 3 weeks and 3 days old.  They ended up and settled in Eagleville, Modoc County, California. I hope this information helps.
