July 11, 1850 Thursday
Last night (July 8th,) after an illness fo several days, Mr. GEORGE W. MCGUGIN,
of this city.
It is with peculiarly mournful feelings, which will be felt by all who new Mr.
McGugin, that we make the annoucent above. Settled in
our place but a few months, that time had sufficed to identify him amoung us, as
a faithful and enterprising business man, and a warm hearted and public spirited
citizen. His determination was to make this section of country his place of
business and his home,
and his kind and generous nature, and frank sociability of manner had won for
him the esteem of every one, and gather around
him a circle of warm friends who will feel a pang in the Providence which has
thus suddenly taken him from among us. To the afflicted relatives of the
deceased, we tender our heartfelt sympathise.
