OBITURAY NOTICE
Mrs. Belinda c. Pitman

Vally Whig and Keokuk Register
Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa USA
Jan 10, 1850 Thursday

Died at the residence of Mr. L. Pittman, West Point December 31st, of puerperal fever, Mrs. Belinda c. Pittman, wife of
R.W. Pittman, and daughter of Simon and Sarah Cooley in the 22d year of her age.   The christian fortitude which she manifested during her illness and the sweet resignation and composure with which she passed into the dark valley and shadow of death, have left impressions on the minds of all who witnessed the scene never to be erased by the finger of time. Although from the nature of
her disease frequent delirium interruped the tranquility of her mind, we have rarely if ever seen one manifest such a degree of amiability, submission and christion courage, as well as the tenderest love and sympathy for her friends to meet her in heaven,
and commending her infant son to the care of her heavenly Father, she passed peacefully away with the closing year to that better
land where she hoped soon to be joined by the sorrowing ones she has left behind.
