Asa C. Edward Brockway 1865-1911

BROCKWAY, STRENSTROM, MCNEILL

Obituary-Ft. Madison Weekly Democrat, Ft. Madison, Iowa, Wednesday, 22 February, 1911; p. 8, Column 4

At his residence, 618 1/2 Second Street, Fort Madison, Iowa, at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 1911, Asa Edward Brockway, aged 46 years. Deceased was born near Denmark in this county, and had made this section his home for life. As a farmer, stock buyer, and liveryman he had gained many friends to regret his death, which came at the end of a lingering illness. Mr. Brockway came to this city about four years ago, purchasing the Bullard liveries, which were in turn sold to the present owner, J.F. Hansman. He married five years ago to Miss Albertine Strenstrom of Burlington, who survives him with two children, Donald and Fay. His mother, Mrs. Louisa Brockway, is also living and resides at the home here. Funeral from the residence at 9 a.m. Friday; interment at Denmark Cemetery; Rev. A.J. Zaiser officiating at the funeral services here and Rev. Lyman of Denmark at the services at the grave.
