Died 14 Mar 1975

Earl D. Prouty, 88 of 2620 Bank St. passes away unexpectedly at his home Friday evening

He was born March 8, 1887 in Keokuk, the son of Oscar and Sarah Elizabeth Parkhurst Prouty, and a lifelong resident of the city

Mr. Prouty was a graduate of Iowa State University and was in the automobile business for many years, lately with Tigue Motors

He married Jessie Mae Williams in Ottumwa and she preceded him Dec 25, 1960

He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was a Mason

Mr. Prouty is survived by a son, Dow Prouty of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Pond, Keokuk and Mrs. Margaret Engelking and Mrs.

Phyllis Angle of Nacogdoches, Texas; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren

Besides his wife, he was preceded by seven brothers and sisters, his parents, a son and a daughter

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the DeJong Funeral Home with the Rev. Merlin J. Ackerson officiating. Burial was in the Buena Vista Cemetery
