Dudley Cemetery
Abandoned Cemetery 7 miles north of Keokuk, southwest of Montrose in an area known as Summitville. There was once a road
leading to it, but it is gone. In the spring of 1952 it was a beautiful county cemetery, all of the old stones were standing. It has been
vandalized and is nearly destroyed today. (2000) First known burial: 1849 Last known burial: 1879
I was there in the spring of 1952 . I saw my first stone made like a tree trunk. Another first was a stone made as a lamb.
