Acklan Cemetery


Between Primrose and Farmington (Van Buren Co.) in Harrison Township. The cemetery is on the south
side of the road, near Van Buren Co.  Township Trustees mow this cemetery a couple of times a year.  
Many stones have been lost.  First known burial: 1838.

  We are preparing to have a memorial service 
  Sunday, May 27th for my mother, Elouise Schultz, in Acklam Cemetery.  

  There 
  are several family members
  buried or inurned there, and I was surprised to find so many of them listed on 
  this website.  
  Acklam definitely isn't abandoned (yet), but it's always fun to wade through the tall grass and weeds in the spring, especially if it's 
been raining.  In addition to that, there is a resident bull who doesn't take kindly to folks trompin' through his territory.....
plus the somewhat frequently encountered cow-pile "remembrances", which he and his friends have deposited.  We definitely 
hope it stays dry this week!?
