Steamboat Men
Montrose

Capt. F. A. Whitney
Centerville

Montrose has no bridge but has a steam ferry.  A ferry makes daily trips between Montrose, Iowa, and Nauvoo, Ill., as there is no railroad in Nauvoo.  The ferry does a fine business, and her captain and owner, John Rheimbold, is very popular with the shippers and traveling public.
