Seneca Township Cemetery
The Seneca Township Cemetery is located in Section 8 of Seneca Township in Kossuth County, Iowa.
OR from Fenton, Iowa 7 miles north and 1/2 mile east on 385th Street.            The first Burial 1871.
A picture of the cemetery can be seen at "Gravestone Photo Project". Many stones are chipped or are illegible.   Many unmarked graves.
The cemetery had been badly neglected and overgrown with brush a few years ago, when a community group decided  to clean it up and have
it mowed and some stones repaired, and etc.  The cemetery was walked and recorded the summer of 2002. Submitted by Letty Hurlburt. March 2003.

RE: Peterson, Court house records indicate a Hanna S. Petersen died 1/21/1892 of Liver Trouble.  Born in Sweden. Could be one of the unmarked.
**RE: Christenson, Court house records indicate a Antonie John Christenson died 4/23/1881 of a pistol shot to the head by his own hand. (14Yrs.Old)
There are Christenson's buried in Blakjer but a sucide was not permitted to be buried there, so was buried in Seneca Cemetery. (I believe this to be the one)
