1 CONC Americus Edward was called Mack all his life.  He got the name Americus

1 CONC from a neighbor in Jonesboro. The night my father was born it was snowing

1 CONC and they needed medicine from the pharmacy in Jonesboro. A neighbor

1 CONC offered to walk the 4 miles to ge the medicine.  He would not take

1 CONC payment for his good deed.  He asked that they name the boy after him. 

1 CONC My father never liked the name so he signed everything A. E. Weimer  , or

1 CONC Mack.  After coming to Chicago with his half brother Carl Fosnaugh, he

1 CONC worked on the construction crew building the Stevens Hotel.  He was just

1 CONC out of High School.  After a short time there he worked at the South

1 CONC Water Street Market area.  During this time my mother came to Chicago and

1 CONC worked at Marshall Fields.  They were married in Oak Park, Il. where they

1 CONC had an apartment. Shortly after being married they returned to Marion,

1 CONC Ind.  My father took a job with the Indiana Michigan Electric Company. 

1 CONC He was a truck driver for the line crew.  During his time there the crew

1 CONC was involved in putting up much of electrical lines for rural

1 CONC electrification.  He also patrolled the streets at night replacing the

1 CONC bulbs in the street lights.  He spent 45 years with the company before

1 CONC retireing.

1 CONC Arthur moved to a plot of land outside of Jonesboro, Ind.  It was a small

1 CONC plot of about 5 acres. He and three of his brothers made sorghum

1 CONC molasses. My uncle Carl Fosnaugh relayed this to me, but could not

1 CONC remember which other two brothers were involved.  My father Americus

1 CONC Edward pushed the small rail cart out to the dumping area to remove the

1 CONC sugar cane stalks that had been crushed.  In addition to gardening,

1 CONC Arthur was also a carpenter.  He built many of the homes and barns around

1 CONC Jonesboro and Fowlerton, Ind.  In the early 30's he moved to Niles,

1 CONC Michigan where he had a job with the Kawneer Refrigeration Co.  He built

1 CONC the packing cases to ship the freezer units used by many stores. He also

1 CONC built his own house in Niles.  Before leaving Jonesboro his father Joseph

1 CONC and wife also lived with them.  They are buried in a cemetery close to

1 CONC the Missisinnawa River.

1 CONC said county deceased considering the uncertainty of this mortal life

1 CONC this my last will and testament in manner and form Following.
