The former county seat of Keokuk county, is a village of 150
inhabitants, 6 miles south of Sigourney (c h), on the O br C, R I & P
Ry, to which there is a mail stage triweekly. It has 2 churches,
district school, and ships hogs, cattle, etc. Lillie Cochran,
postmaster.
