Benjamin F. Neas and Harriet Bell
Benjamin F. Neas was born Ohio in 1826, and married Harriet Bell at Steubenville, Jefferson county, Ohio in 1845. He and Harriet came to Keokuk county in 1867. Benjamin died in 1879 at Slagle, and is buried at Abel cemetery. Harriet died in 1916 in Kossuth county, and is also buried in Abel cemetery. Her mother's maiden name was Lucy Overton.

Children:

Sarah A. Neas, b. 1846 at Steubenville, Ohio; married Milton Hillery in 1867 in Keokuk county. Died in Los Angeles, California in 1936.

William Neas, b. 1848 at Steubenville, Ohio.

Arabella Neas, b. 1851 at Steubenville, Ohio; married John Davis about 1870.

Mary Harding Neas, b. 1854 at Steubenville, Ohio; married W. Harrison Garnes; lived in Guthrie county, Iowa, and died in Dallas County.

Elizabeth Neas, b. 1857 in Ohio; married George T. West in 1881; died in Kossuth county, Iowa. Jesse Fremont Neas, b. 1861 in Ohio; lived in Guthrie county, Iowa.

Several other children are buried in Abel cemetery.
