Bouquot

Mass for Esther M. Bouquot will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Tom Buechele will officiate.

Miss Bouquot, 87, of 1239 Burns Ave., died Monday at Mercy Hospital after a long illness.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Donohue-Lensing Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.

Miss Bouquot was born April 4, 1900, in Riverside, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Dulin Bouquot. She was a longtime employee of Northwestern Bell Telephone.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and Telephone Pioneers

She is survived by one sister, Irma (Mrs. James) Wiley of Solon; two nephews, including Chuck Wieder of Iowa City; and one niece. One brother and two sisters died earlier.

Esther Franklin, 91

Esther Franklin, 91, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, Feb 23, 2000 at Greenwood Manor & Convalescent Center after a long illness.

Services will be at a later date. Her body was donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Franklin was born Jan 17, 1909 in Iowa City, to Alfred and Ellen (Wilkinson) Franklin. She was raised in Iowa City and graduated from St. Patrick's High School She was employed as an operator supervisor for Northwestern Bell. She retired in 1960 after 40 years with the company.

Survivors include her brother Harold Franklin and his wife, Mary, of Iowa City; two nephews and one niece.

A brother died earlier.

Hattie Goody

Hattie Rose Goody, 82, of 323 S. Madison St died Wednesday evening at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the George L. Gay Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

She was born June 4, 1867 in Iowa City, a daughter of Harry and Nellie Abbott Goody. She attended the University of Iowa and was a chief operator for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. until her retirement in 1962.

She is survived by one sister, Margie G. (Alva) Troyer of Iowa City.

Lillian M. Vrana, 84

Lillian M. Vrana, 84, of 630 N. Dodge Street, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 1995, at Parkview Manor in Wellman after a short illness.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home with burial in the Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Ms. Vrana was born Sept 18, 1910, in ROck Island, Ill., to Joseph and Clara G rissell Vrana. She was employed by Northwestern Bell as the night chief operator for 49 years, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors include her sister, Elsi Vrana of Iowa City'; and one nephew, Gordon and Vrana and one niece Betty Ann Caster, both of Davenport.

Two brothers died earlier.
