Volunteers...the heart of the
    J O H N S O N   C O U N T Y, IOWA
       IAGenWeb Project

The original IAGenWeb Johnson County website was created by Karen Peterson, with the support of the Iowa City Genealogical Society. Since then, many people who have a goal of keeping genealogy free, have contributed information to the Message Boards and/or transcribed cemetery and census records and other valuable genealogical data. Thousands of gravestone photos have been contributed and posted to  the Gravestone Photo Project.

The Johnson County IAGenWeb site is a valuable resource for Johnson County family researchers. Those researchers are highly appreciative of the work of our volunteers. While it is not possible to name all who have contributed, many are named on this page.

If you would like to contribute information to this site and/or volunteer to transcribe or do look ups, please contact the county coordinator and web master, Cindy Booth Maher, at  cindylee53@aol.com

If you are interested in volunteering for a different county, or would consider becoming a coordinator for one of our orphan counties, contact the IAGenWeb Welcome Hostess.
