Robert G "Bob" McCool
Died December 31, 2018
Bob was a graduate of City High School in Iowa
City, Iowa and a 4 sport letter-man. He was also active in choir and
other social clubs.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in the
early sixties and following his service, spent the rest of his life in
the better men’s clothing business. Moving throughout Minnesota,
Wisconsin and Iowa to pursue his career with faithful family in tow, he
finally ended up in Knoxville, TN. Before his medical retirement, he
held a position with the John H. Daniel Company.
Bob was an
avid sports fan, and dearly loved music. His other hobbies included
reading, painting, chair caning, and spending time with his family.
Bob
had a multitude of health issues over the past 25 years and was cared
for by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce. Always the trooper, he
fought until his last day and never gave up. The family would
especially like to thank the staff of Raintree Assisted Living Center
and Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful loving care the past few
months of his life.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Castle McCool, and Ruby Forrester McCool; sister Cynthia A. King.
He
is survived by his wife Joyce Sees McCool; daughter and son-in–law
Angie and Carey Zachary of Louisville, Tn; son and daughter-in law,
Greg and Heather McCool of Knoxville; grandchildren Evan Davis, Reise
Zachary, Henry McCool and Lindy McCool as well as several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 on Monday, January 7th at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel.
Family
and friends will gather at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8th at the East
Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery, 2200 East John Sevier Highway for
services and interment with Chaplain Clay Mulford officiating.
