Special note needs to be made of Orville and Mary Prill who produced a number of volumes of Jefferson County Records back in the 1960s and 70s.  All of this material may be found in the Fairfield Public Library.  The Prills passed away some years ago but their influence lives on. 

Another person that must be recognized is Verda Baird.  She was the Corresponding Secretary for the Jefferson County Genealogical Society.  Verda has produced a number of books that are also on the shelves of the library and are available for sale by the Iowa and Jefferson County Genealogical Societies.

(one block North of the Square)

There are many events and activities going on in Fairfield all year around.
Time your visit to include one or more of these events.
