     None but those who have worked with him through all their school days, and have graduated, can appreciate to the fullest extent the high moral influence, and inspiration, that Mr. Beard has so effectively and permanently instilled into the lives of Newton students.
     It can be said, without an exception, there is no man in Newton whose labors have been so unselfish and so helpful to his fellow men as those of Prof. E. J. H.Beard.
     His influence for the betterment of this community is too immeasurable to be compensated by earthly reward. -- An Alumnus of N. H. S.

When we, the studens in old Newton High School, grow old, and look back on our school days, we will remember our Superintendent, Prof. E. J. H. Beard, as one of the best friends we have ever had.
