To E. J. H. Beard, Superintendent of the Newton Public Schools, as an appreciation of his genuine interest in the student body and his untiring efforts in their behalf for the past twenty years, this volume is lovingly dedicated.
Having graduated under E. J. H. Beard is a signal honor of distinction.
None but those who have worked with him through all their school days, and have graduated, can appreciate to the fullest extent the high moral influence, and inspiration, that Mr. Beard has so effectively and permanently instilled into the lives of Newton students.
It can be said, without an exception, there is no man in Newton whose labors have been so unselfish and so helpful to his fellow men as those of Prof. E. J. H.Beard.
