William Vaughan (son of John)and wife, Malinda Powell Vaughan formed the
first class of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1866, along with Elijah
COWLES. The church was erected in 1868. William Vaughan was a trustee of
the church. William and Malinda would be my great-grandparents, and John
and Geney, my g-g-grandparents.
