Alloway Post #106, Lynnville, Iowa - GAR Register

The Lynnville chapter of GAR is named in honor of Private Abijah Alloway, a native of Indiana, resided in Newton, Iowa. He enlisted August 28, 1861 and mustered Septemnber 7, 1861, Rank: Private, Company I, Unit 10 Infantry. He was discharged July 16, 1862, Camp Clear Creek. He re-enlisted August 22, 1862 and mustered September 13, 1862. He died of disease November 10, 1863, Jasper County, Iowa
