James W. Moore

DAYTON, Ind. -- James W. Moore, 33, of Dayton, Ind, formerly of Newton, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, in Home Hospital in LaFayette Ind.

A memorial will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Graveside services will be held in Newton Union Cemetery.

Following the funeral service the family will greet friends at a coffee time at the Pence-Reese Tribute Center. Memorials will be accepted in his name toward his son's scholarship fund and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Donald and Carol Higginbotham-Moore, he was born Nov. 30, 1969, in Newton. He was a 1986 graduate of Newton Senior High School and attended DMACC and Victory Christian Center Bible School. He graduated in 2000 with a major in biblical studies. On Aug. 23, 1997, he married Larralyn Gaskell in Dayton, Ind. He was employed as a cement truck driver at Irving Materials Inc. in LaFayette, Ind. and was a member of Victory Christian Center in LaFayette, Ind.

Survivors include his wife, son, Cameron Moore; his parents of Newton; a sister and brother-in-law, Kris and Mike Nichols of Crawfordsville, Ind.; his grandmother, Mildred Higginbotham of Granger; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers and a grandmother. ~ Newton Daily News, November 4, 2003.
