Dies on Tuesday
COLFAX (Special) -- Walter Frank
Saathoff, 61, a resident of Colfax for the past 12 years,
died Tuesday at his home at 221 West State street.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the
Colfax Methodist church.
The Rev. E. H. Jackson, pastor of the Methodist church,
will conduct the services. Burial will be in Sugar Grove
cemetery.
Bumgardner Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of
arrangements.
Mr. Saathoff is survived by his wife, Nellie; two
daughters, Lorraine Ramsbig of Muskegon, Mich., and Mrs.
Lila Jean Hill of Colfax; and three grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Herman Dunteman of
Amiret, Minn., and Mrs. Roy Jackson of Parker, Iowa, and a
brother, Fred, of Woden, Iowa.
The son of Gerd and Anna Rankin Saathoff, he was born
March 24, 1897 at Manson.
He was married Aug. 11, 1934 to Nellie Gist at Rolfe,
Iowa.
Mr. Saathoff was a Maytag company employee.
He was a member of the Colfax Methodist church. ~ The

Roy, Utah - Mrs. Walter (Nellie M.) Saathoff, 81, of Roy,
Utah, a former Jasper County resident, died Tuesday, Dec. 3,
in Roy.
Funeral services will be held Friday at Myers Mortuary in
Roy and graveside rites will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at
the Sugar Grove Cemetery near Metz.
Walter-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is in charge of
local arrangements.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Lila Jean) Hill
and Mrs. Bill (Lorraine) Bauer, both of Roy; four
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother,
Giles Gist of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mrs. Saathoff was a member of the United Methodist
Church.
The daughter of George and Pralie Ann Meade Gist, she was
born April 2, 1904 in Metz.
She was married Aug. 11, 1924 in Rolfe.
Mrs. Saathoff had resided the last 2 years in Roy. ~
