Obituary
A Celebration of Life for Norman Ringgenberg will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 29, 2015, at the Pence – Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Visitation with the family is one hour prior to the services and with a Fellowship time following the services. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Norm’s family, in his name, and left at the funeral home.
Norman Richard Ringgenberg, the son of Ray Ivan and Berdie (Williams) Ringgenberg, was born December 28, 1925, near Polk City, Iowa. He attended Perry schools, and served his country during World War II, with the United States Navy.
On June 27, 1948, Norm was united in marriage to Cecilia May Johnson at the Newton First Lutheran Church. Longtime Newton residents, they also lived near Baxter and Pella, IA, and Apache Junction, AZ. He was employed by the Maytag Company, Plating Department, just short of 30 years, retiring in 1979, due to his health. He loved spending time with his family, woodworking, fishing and car races. Norm was a member of the Metz Community Church, Newton American Legion Post #111, Sugar Grove Grange, USS LSM-LSMR Association, and enjoyed attending the Bar None Cowboy Church in Newton, on Thursday evenings.
Norm, at 89 years of age, entered into the gates of Glory on Friday morning, June 26, 2015, at his home in Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Mike; and his three brothers: Alvin, Raymond and Eugene Ringgenberg.
Those left to honor Norm’s memory include his wife Cecilia May; his daughter Linda and husband Norman Dixon of Waukee; his sons: David and wife Jeannine Ringgenberg of Newton, Dan Ringgenberg of Leadville, CO, and Jeff Ringgenberg and husband Stewart McKenzie of San Francisco, CA; his nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

ESTES PARK, Colo. -- Michael L. Ringgenberg, 36, of Estes
Park, Colo, a former resident of Newton, died Sunday, Sept.
22, four miles south of Estes Park.
Memorial services for Mr. Ringgenberg, the son of Norman
and Cecilia Ringgenberg of Newton, will be held at 4 p.m.
Friday at The Other Room at The Wheel, 132 E. Elkhorn, Estes
Park, Colo.
Allnutt-E.P. Chapel in Estes Park, Colo., is in charge of
arrangements.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, are his wife,
Rose; a grandmother, Mrs. Florence Ferguson of Newton; a
sister, Linda (Mrs. Norm) Dixon of Des Moines; and three
brothers, David, of Newton, Dan, of Estes Park, Colo., and
Jeff of Iowa City.
He was born Jan. 21, 1955 in Newton and was a 1973
graduate of Newton Community High School.
A resident of Estes Park since 1983, he formerly lived in
Temecula, Calif.
Mr. Ringgenberg was employed by A-1 Trash for four years
at The Wheel.
He was married to Rose Carfield.
Mr. Ringgenberg was an avid hunter. ~ Newton Daily News,
