Graveside rites for Scott Michael and Nikki Lea McCarty, twin children of Galen James and Sandy Kay Goldsmith McCarty of Rt. 2, Newton, were held Saturday, Sept 1, at the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
The Rev. Don Gadbow, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, conducted services.
They were born and died Friday, Aug. 31, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Also surviving are the children's grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Harold goldsmith of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Ruth McCarty of Drake, N.D., and their great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Goldsmith of Fort Scott, Kan. ~ The Newton Daily News, September 4, 1984.
