Ronnie D. Housley, 68, of Newton died on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Careage of Newton. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service. Memorials in Ronnie's name may be left at the funeral home.
Ronnie, the son of Donald and Mildred (Nichols) Housley, was born on April 27, 1944 in Iowa City. The family moved to Newton, Iowa in 1951. Ronnie resided in Jasper County for the rest of his life. He was an over the road truck driver, retiring in 1996. Ronnie used to Figure-8 race and enjoyed everything racing. He also liked to work on cars and go to auctions.
Those left to honor Ronnie's memory are his daughter, Jayme Housley of Knoxville; brother, Marvin Housley of Newton; nieces and nephews, Teresa Cooper of Newton, Mark (Melinda) Housley of Newton, Terry Housley of Newton, and Heather (Donnie Sutton) Housley of Reasnor; and several great nieces and nephews.
