Born: December 13, 1934 in Newton, Jasper Co., Iowa Obituary: Paul A. HardenbrookPaul A. Hardenbrook, 64, of Newton died of a heart ailment Monday at home. The body will be cremated, and services will be held at a later date. Burial of the cremains will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Hardenbrook was born in Newton and had lived in Jasper County all his life. He was a retired self-employed maintenance worker and had been 4-H superintendent of Jasper County Fair for several years. He was a member of Malcom Dance Club. He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Iris Taylor of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Rose Halligan of Rolfe; and a sister, Lela Murphy, and a brother, Dan, both of Newton. The son of Evan and Meta Bunse Hardenbrook, he was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1954. He married Wanda Hansen Aug. 28, 1960, in Colfax. A lifelong resident of Newton, Mr. Hardenbrook was employed by the Jasper County Coal Company, Kellogg Hardware Store, KeWash Ready Mix, Watters Lumber and owned his own window repair shop. He was a member of the Redman at Crow Tribe No. 25 in Colfax, Dance Club of Malcom, bingo caller and he was a 4-H superintendent of the Jasper County Fair for several years and a member of the fair board. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Iris and Rob Taylor of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. and Rose and Tony Halligan of Rolfe; a sister and brother-in-law, Lela and Dan Murphy of Newton; a brother and sister-in-law, Bonnie and Norinne Hardenbrook, both of Newton and Darlene Hardenbrook of Des Moines; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Born: May 2, 1928 in Newton, Jasper Co., Iowa Obituary: Edward HardenbrookAltoona - Edward C. "Pete" Hardenbrook, 59, of Altoona, a native and former resident of Newton, died Monday, March 21, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Grandview Funeral Home in Des Moines. The Rev. Harlan Winter, pastor of the Altoona United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Private burial services will be conducted. Survivors are his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Pam Crawford of Des Moines; and a grandson, Nicholas Crawford of Des Moines. Mr. Hardenbrook also is survived by a sister, Lela Murphy of Newton; and five brothers, Lester, Elvin, Dan and Paul, all of Newton, and Cleo of Colfax. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Walter. Mr. Hardenbrook was a member of the Altoona United Methodist Church. Born: March 15, 1920 in Jasper Co., Iowa Obituary: Cleo HardenbrookColfax - Funeral services for Cleo Hardenbrook, 72, longtime resident of Colfax, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct 30, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Chaplain Henry J. Bevel of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines will conduct services. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery at Metz. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Izaak Walton League will be accepted. He died Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines. Survivors are a sister, Lela Murphy of Newton; and three brothers, Lester "Hap", Dan and Paul, all of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Walter, Edward and Elvin. He was a member of Emerson Hough chapter of the Izaak Walton League and the American Legion, both of Newton. Mr. Hardenbrook was a retired employee of the Monroe Co. in Colfax, had been a custodian at the Colfax-Mingo Community schools, farmed and had worked at the Colfax Sales Co. Mr. Hardenbrook, an all around athlete during his school years and a baseball player following high school, was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
