She was born in Jasper county, March 20, 1933, and spent her lifetime in this area. She was married to Mr. Gorman at Altoona, May 13, 1950. For a time she was employed as a telephone operator. Survivors include her husband, her mother, Mrs. Hazel Gibson, Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Ted Orman, Mrtz; Mrs. paul Michel, Altoona, and Ruby, Newton and one brother, Kenneth, Newton. She was preceded in death by her father; Ora Gibson. ~ Newton Daily News, September 12, 1951. __________Double Services Set Friday for Crash VictimsDouble funeral services for the young Newton mother and her baby daughter who were killed Tuesday night in an auto-truck crash will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock at Johnson-Murdoch Funeral Home. Mrs. Walter G. Gorman, 18, and daughter, Diana Lynn, eight months, died when their car, driven by Mr. Gorman, crashed into the rear of a semi-trailer on Highway 6 just outside the west city limits. Officiating at the services will be Rev. Benson B. Compton, pastor of the Assembly of God church. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery. Pallbears for the mother will be Carl Clement, Leland Clement, Phil Lane, Floyd Mulbrook, Mark Emmack and Robert Steinberger, anf for the baby, Joan Compton, Sharon Borts, Carolyn Smith and Karn Sue Pennock. Music will be by Mrs. Marie Hardenbrook, soloist and Miss Inez McNeese, organist.
