Those left to honor Donnie’s memory are his children and their families: Son, Donnie (Janice) Engle and their children, Dustin (Andrea) Engle, and their daughters, Autumn, and Alyce, and Dawn Engle (Mike Shaw) and their sons, Colter, Carter and Conner; Son, Tuck (Kathy) Engle and their children, DeAnn Engle and her family, Malloy Maple (Tanner Nearmyer) and their son, Brantley; Marcus Maple, and Marshall Maple, Danny (Amy) Engle and their family, Elise, and Gus, and Doug (Jennifer) Engle and their son, Tucker; Son-in-law, Larry Nikkel and his children, Lynnette (Steve) McRoberts and their children, Connor, Delaney, Dylan, Kody, and Hallie, Michelle (Damon) Berger and their family, Payton, and Teryn, and Krista (Bob) Gordon and their family, Olivia, Urban and Espn; and Daughter, Dee (Joel) Bucklin and their children, Michael Bucklin (Lacy Sudbrink) and Steven Bucklin; and two sisters, Doris Booth of Denver, Colorado and June Veverka of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Darlene in 2013 and daughter, Debbie Nikkel in 1989.
Donnie farmed. He loved farming and he enjoyed tinkering in his shop and working on his tractors.

Darlene Engle, 84, of Newton died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.
A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd “Donnie” of Newton; children, Donnie (Janice) Engle of Newton, Tuck (Kathy) Engle of Colfax, and Dee (Joel) Bucklin of Colfax; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie Nikkel in 1989; three brothers, Wayne, and Leo “Fatty” Thurman and Charles White in infancy; and sister, Helen Rethmeier. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News.
