Born: December 20, 1920 in Novinger, Adair Co., Missouri Obituary: Lillian L. ClementLillian L. Clement, 72, of 141 Seventh Ave. Court N.E., Altoona, died of cancer Sunday at home. The body was donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, and no services are planned. Mrs. Clement was born in Novinger, Mo., and moved to Altoona in 1959. She was a homemaker and member of Disabled American Veteran and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliaries and the Des Moines chapter United Ostomy Association. Surviving are her husband, John; a son, John Jr. of Mitchellville; a daughter, Linda Cunnick of Waco, Texas; two brothers, John Roberts of Marco Island, Fla., and Robert Roberts of Ben Brook, Texas; a sister, Alice Humes of Newton; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Her body was donated to the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines. Memorials to the Mercy Home Hospice will be accepted. Survivors are her husband, John Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, John Jr. and Carla of Mitchellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John D. Cunnick of Waco, Texas, five grandchildren; and a great grandson. Also surviving are two brothers John J. Roberts of Marco Island, Fla., and Robert E. Roberts of Benbrook, Texas; and a sister, Alice Humes of Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Clement, who spent most of her life in Newton and Altoona, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the Des Moines chapter of United Ostomy Association. John W. Clement
Born: April 28, 1920 in Metz, Jasper Co., Iowa John W. Clement, Sr.John W. Clement Sr., 84, died Sunday, May 16, 2004 at InTrust Hospice Taylor House. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday May 20 at the Altoona Funeral Home, with burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Mr. Clement was born April 28, 1920 in Metz, IA. He went on to join the U.S. Army and retired a Captain. He was a truck driver for Ruan before his retirement. John was a member of the Altoona Methodist Church, King David Lodge in Altoona, VFW, Newton DAV Post 10 and Eastgate Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his son, John (Carla) Clement Jr. of Mitchellville; his companion, Ruby Jacobs of Altoona; five grandchildren, Troy (Michelle) Clement, Tammy (Rob Haug) Clement, Todd (Stacy) Sisson, Shad (Wendy) Sisson, and Brandi (James Brant) Landuyt; and six great grandchildren, Brett Sisson, Austin Sisson, Kyler Sisson, Rhiannon Sisson, Josh Brant, and Justin Brant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Lorraine Clement and a daughter, Linda. Visitation will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Linda (Clement) Sisson
Born: January 14, 1948 in Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa Obituary: Linda Clement SissonLinda Clement Sisson, 53, of Waco, Texas, formerly of Grinnell, died of cancer Friday, Nov. 9 at Quality Care in Waco. Her body was donated to Texas A&M University Medical School. A prayer service and burial will be at a later date at Sugar Grove Cemetery near Newton. The daughter of John W. and Lillian L. Roberts Clement, she was born Jan.14, 1948 in Des Moines, IA. She attended school in Altoona, and moved to Grinnell in 1970. She was married to Norman "Jay" Sisson April 17, 1969, in Blair, Neb. She was married to Harold Porritt March 2, 1984 in Quebec, Canada. She moved to Waco in 1983 and was employed by West Telemarketing. Surviving are her father; two sons, Todd Sisson of Springdale, Ark., and Shad Sisson of Grinnell; one daughter, Brandi Landuyt of Colfax; one brother, John Clement, Jr. of Mitchellville; and three grandchildren.
