Robert Anthony
Born: May 10, 1924 in Newton, Jasper Co., Iowa Robert Lee Anthony, 36, of 316 West 3rd St. South, a lifelong resident of Newton, died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Research hospital in Chicago, Ill. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland Funeral home. The Rev. Philip Biblehimer, pastor of the First Lutheran church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Sugar grove Cemetery. The Amvets post will conduct graveside services. Mr. Anthony is survived by his wife; a son, Robert Lee Jr.15; and 2 daughters, Kimberly Kay, 1 and Sheryl Jane 10; two step-sons, Rickey, 9, and Charles, 8; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lewis Anthony of Newton; five brothers, Arnold of Newton, Ersel of Las Vegas, Nev., Clinton of Rolling Hills, Calif.; Elmer of Gardenia, Calif.; and Charles of Gardenia, Calif.; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Gail) Mindham of Newton and Mrs. Ed (Marvel) Shannon of Wichita, Kan. Mr. Anthony was a member of First Lutheran church. He was also a member of the Amvets and former member of the Izaak Walton league. The son of Lewis E. and Neva Gibson Anthony, he was born May 10, 1924 in Newton. He was married December 6, 1958 to Margaret Mae Shepard in Newton. Mr. Anthony was an auto mechanic. Born: December 9, 1950 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., Iowa Sheryl Anthony Dies Thursday; Services PendingSheryl Jane Anthony, 18, Newton, died Thursday at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Johnson Funeral Home will handle arrangements which have not been completed. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Doris Booth, Denver, Colo.; a brother, Robert Anthony in the Air Force stationed in Omaha, Neb.; two grandfathers, Lewis Anthony, Newton and Fred Engle, Marshalltown, a grandmother, Mrs. Fred Matheny, Newton, and a great-grandfather, Fred Engle, Newton. Also surviving are two half-sisters, Kimberly Anthony, Newton, and Kathleen Booth, Denver, and a half-brother, Clinton Booth, Denver. Sharon (Knight) Anthony
Born: 11 May 1946 at Tekamah, Burt Co., Nebraska ObituaryA graveside service for Sharon will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Sugar Grove Cemetery in rural Newton. Sharon Kay Anthony was born on May 11, 1946, in Tekamah, Nebraska to Oren Albert and Elizabeth Eva (Shafer) Knight. She passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 16, 2018, at the age of 72, with her family at her bedside. Sharon was raised in Omaha, Nebraska and was a 1964 graduate of Benon High School. Following graduation she attended cosmetology school. On September 4, 1965, she married Bob Anthony. With Bob enlisted in the military, Sharon found work in the restaurant business. At the early age of 13 she attended a Billy Graham Crusade and at that time accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She had a passion for bringing others to the Lord. Sharon worked at the Mail Box Ministry for Go Ye Village and the Women's Prison Ministry. She enjoyed visiting with people and had a knack of making them feel comfortable by listening to them. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Elizabeth Knight; and brother, Oren Knight Jr. And his wife Alice. She is survived by her loving husband Bob, of the home; two children, Libby Anthony and Nick Anthony both also of the home; a sister Pat Moroney and husband Roger of Omaha, Nebraska; and sister in law, Kim Roode and John of Omaha, Nebraska; as well a many other friends and loved ones.~ Wallace's Family Funeral Home |
