Griffis Cemetery is also known as Brown Cemetery. It is an open cemetery and has approximately 260 burials. The earliest burial seems to have been in 1851. The first recorded entry about this cemetery was in 1855 when the 3.30 acres of land was excluded on a deed. The Warranty Deed is dated 1887.
