From Iowa.
Des Moines, Dec. 24 -- A man named McCormick was brought here yesterday, charged with the murder of an old man named James, in Humboldt county. Last Wednesday James had been to Fort Dodge and McCormick, learing that he had some $800 with him, obtained the privilege of riding in his wagon, and when
near Dacotah City beat out the old man's brains, robbed the body and started east. The body was found soon afterward, and the murderer arrested on the same evening.
