Marion Sentinel, Jan. 6, 1946

Pioneer Resident of Marion Dies

Frank Carver, 89, retired carpenter and a resident of Marion for the last 81 years, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at a Cedar Rapids hospital. His home in Marion was at 1092 Third street.

Born Dec. 24, 1856, at Iowa City, he was the son of Henry and Katherine Glascock Carver. Mr Carver was married July 17, 1886, to Mary Elizabeth Bowman.

He was a member of the Church of God in Marion.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ethel F. Limpus of Marion, an adopted son, LeRoy E. Carver, Houston, Texas, and two grandchildren. A son, Harold L. Carver, preceded his father in death Oct. 8, 1938.

Funeral services will be held at the Yocom chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. W. McMicken, pastor of the Marion Church of God, assisted by the Rev. Frank H. Ward of the Sunshine Mission, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery at Marion. Friends may call at the chapel after noon Monday.

Carver Services.

Services for Frank Carver, 89, who died Saturday at a Cedar Rapids hospital, will be conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Yocom chapel. Elder W. W. McMickem, Marion, and the Rev. Frank H. Ward, Cedar Rapids, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Pallbearers will be W. H. Endecott and Harry Ford of Marion, George Van Horn, Milton, Wis., and Lester Cleveland, Chicago. Friends may call at the chapel.

Last Rites Monday For Isaiah Fetterman

Services for Isaiah L. Fetterman, 93, of 1234 Twelfth street, Marion, who died Friday night in a Cedar Rapids hospital, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Yocom chapel. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial cemetery.

Mr. Fetterman was born Nov. 2, 1855, at Bloomsburg, Pa. He moved to Lisbon with his parents when a young boy and had lived in Linn county since. He was married to Mary Louise Farnham at Lisbon June 19, 1889. Mr. and Mrs. Fetterman moved to Marion in 1938 from a farm near Springville. He was a member of the Lutheran church at Lisbon.

Surviving, in addition to his wife are five daughters: Mrs. Blanche Lehr of Marion, Mrs. Neva Stoneking of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Rubye Caldwell of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Myrle Cooper of Coggon and Miss Lois Fetterman of Pasadena, Calif.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the chapel.
