JACKSON RITES THIS AFTERNOON
Funeral of Former Sioux City Resident will be at Graceland Park

Funeral services for Dr. James A. Jackson, 49 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Jackson, of Sioux City, who died several days ago [31 May, 1928] at his home in San Diego, Cal., will be held with full military honors at the family plot in Graceland Park cemetery this afternoon at 4 o'clock.

Headquarters company of the One Hundred and Third Infantry of the Iowa national guard, under command of Lieut. Chris Berthelsen, will act as a military escort. Several officers, including Maj. Gen. Matt Tinley, of
Council Bluffs, a lifelong friend of Dr. Jackson, will march with the escort. Reed's military band will play the funeral march. Dr. Jackson was a World War veteran, having served in the Fifty-sixth ammunition train under Maj. Mellon. He was one of the first men to enlist at San Diego shortly after the United States entered the war.

Dr. Jackson attended the Sioux City Medical college here, taking his first year's instruction under Dr. William Jepson. He later studied at Jefferson college in Philadelphia and then spent three years in Europe. He had
practiced at San Diego for the past 18 years.

Dr. Jackson was a grandson of James A. Jackson, one of the founders of Sioux City and after whom Jackson Street was named.

Rev. Robert S. Flockhart and Rev. E. H. Gaynor will officiate at the grave. Westcott's undertaking establishment is in charge.
