MOONSHINE FLOODS KITCHEN
STRANGE SIGHT GREETS POLICE RAIDERS.
BROKEN GLASS TELLS STORY.
Liquid Found on Floor Is Bottled and Taken as Evidence—Five Persons are Arrested When Officers Visit Steuben Street Home.

Moonshine liquor an inch deep on the kitchen floor was considered by the police sufficient evidence to arrest Mrs. V. Brienzo, 516 Steuben street, on a charge of maintaining a liquor nuisance and running a disorderly house Monday afternoon.

Four other persons, two men and two women, also were arrested.  According to the police, as they neared the Brienzo residence B. Terry, 508 Lee block, was seen entering the back door of the home carrying a “suspicious” appearing five-gallon can.

After several minutes, which was consumed in effecting an entrance to the house, police found the five-gallon can and several glass jugs which had been smashed with an axe.  Their contents flooded the kitchen floor.

Part of the liquid found on the floor was bottled and taken as evidence.  After tasting the fluid, it was found to be moonshine whisky of high potency.

Terry was charged with illegal transportation of liquor.  The others, Mrs. L. Dingman and Mr. and Mrs. L. Rippley, 516 Steuben street, were charged with frequenting a disorderly house.

Officers Bert Luke and William Theison made the raid.
