Private Henry Klewe,jr., Company L, One Hundred and Sixty-second infantry has been killed in action in France, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klewe, of Leeds. Private Klewe left Sioux City September 21, 1917, for Camp Dodge, Ia., later being sent to Camp Cody, Deming, N.M. He left Camp Merritt, N.J. in July and has been in active service since that time.
