OBITUARY
Mary Anne Irwin was born in Co. Fermanagh, Ireland, Oct. 13,
1845. She was married in June 1869 to Wm. Dawson of Co. Tyrone,
in which county they lived on their own farm until March, 1899,
when they decided to come to the United States, as most of their
family had preceded them to this country. Her husband only lived
two months after their arrival, since which time she has made her
home with her two sons and a daughter, Sam, Stewart and Anna
Dawson, living two years in Plymouth county and the balance of
the time in Cherokee county, Iowa, where the Silent Messenger
came and carried her home at 9:20 o'clock p.m., January 12, 1911.
She joined the Methodist Episcopal church in early life and
remained a faithful Christian. Mrs. Dawson leaves nine children,
seven sons and two daughters, to mourn her death.
