GUINAN
John A. Guinan an old resident of Woodbury county died at
Danbury, Oct. 15. The Danbury Review says concerning
him: "The deceased was born in King's county, Ireland, in
1849, and came to this country when a boy. He spent some time in
the west in the earlier days and his wife died at Laramie, Wyo.
in 1876. From there he went to Missouri and from there to this
county in 1882 and located in Morgan township near the Midway
postoffice where he owned valuable farm property at the time of
his death. About fifteen years ago he moved to a farm adjoining
the town of Danbury where he purchased another fine tract of
land. About a year ago his health began to fail and since that
time he has been cared for by his only child, John L. Guinan of
Sioux City. The deceased was a man of rugged character, honest
and upright in all his dealings with his fellow men.
