Obituary
Susannah G. Holmes Lowe, daughter of Hiram and Sarah Holmes, was born in Wapello County, Iowa, Sept. 1, 1842 and died December 7, 1921 at the age of 79 years 3 months and 7 days. At the age of seven years she came with her parents to Union township in Lucas county where she grew to womanhood. Feb. 28, 1864 she was united in marriage to Josephus Lowe; to this union was born eight children, three having died in infancy and Sarah I. at the age of twenty-nine years. The husband, Josephus Lowe, died Dec. 27, 1903. Those left to mourn her loss are: Mrs. F.O. Lowe of near Humeston; Mrs. Aaron Lyons of Mitchell, South Dakota and Roy J. Lowe of near Humeston, who were with her in her last hours, and Miss M. Alora Lowe, also of Mitchell S. Dakota, who was not permitted to come on account of her health. Sister Lowe united with the Christian Church in early life and stood firm in her faith until death.

Grandma Lowe passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Lowe, Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the Last Chance church Friday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment made in the Last Chance cemetery.

New Pharmacist.
Matson Barnett of Centerville, well known to many here, is now a registered pharmacist, having recently successfully passed the state examination.

H.S. Beakler Burial Today
The funeral of Henry Beakler, who died Monday of hemorrhage of the lungs after a recent attack of pneumonia, will be held this afternoon at two o'clock at the home southeast from Humeston, conducted by Rev. A.E. George, and burial made in the Kirby cemetery. He was a single man nearly sixty years of age.
