BOILER EXPLODES, ONE DEAD
Katy Locomotive Blows Up While Running 35 Miles an Hour-Engineer
Killed.
Coffeyville, Kan. - While running 35 miles an hour, the
locomotive of a Missouri, Kansas & Texas passenger train blew
up at the top of a grade four miles out of this city, killing
Horace Holloway, the engineer, and probably fatally injuring the
fireman, L.E. Goodrich. The locomotive was completely wrecked.
None of the passengers or train crew was injured.
