Ed Gardner is having his house painted, Chas Bales is doing the
work.
Benn Talboy came home, he packed his grip three weeks ago, and
said he did not know where he was going, and when he came back he
declared he did not know where he had been, he must be joking.
Marion Baldwin's wife came back last Sunday and called on him. He
thinks but does not express all his thoughts. He has a new dog
tied up to a tree to get aquainted with at his place.
Isaac Bertch, an old school teacher and for many years a resident
of Palmyra, droped dead Monday morning the 31st. He was of German
decent. He always had a thought and never failed to express it.
He was a soldier and with four brothers fought in the battle at
Gettysburg. His mother lived close enough to that famous
battlefield to hear the cannons roar.
Mrs. Karns, of Cass County, daughter of John Parks, is here
visiting with her sister, Mrs. Tom Pyle.
The Champion bee hunter has found 14 bee trees and says they
never were more plentifull and better supplied with honey.
Park Gregg and Thad Corzatt were at Indianola Tuesday on
business.
Spencer Campbell has had his house painted so that it looks
highly attractive.
Grant Blake has bought a farm of 160 acres in Missouri and will
make that state his future home.
Spring Hill
Mrs. Mary Perley, who has spent most of the summer in Europe is
home again.
Wesley Mountain and wife of Cumberland, Ia., came down to attend
the State Fair and make a short visit among relatives and friends
here.
Mr and Mrs J T Dillard returned from a visit in Nebraska on
Saturday evening.
A cousin and a friend were the guests of T R Andrews and
daughters last week.
Lewis Stephens and family are moving back to this burg. They will
occupy the Banks property.
Will Banks sister, Mrs Hall of Nebraska, is visiting relatives
and friends here.
Mrs. Cliff Hall of Pleasantville, is visiting her parents. Mr and
Mrs Brand.
Jesse Walker of Prole, was visiting friends here last week.
Miss Sugart, an old friend of Mrs. A J Reeves, is visiting her.
Mrs. John Brubaker's mother from Nebraska is visiting them.
