DONNELL & BARTON
No community can get along very well without a grist mill, and for some
time
Farmington
has been deprived of this necessity until these gentlemen erected a new one on
Front street
. Mr. George W. Donnell, the senior member of the firm, is a practical miller of
twenty-five years’ experience, and was for several years head miller here for
the Farmington Milling Co. Mr .Harry Barton, while not an experienced miller,
“pitches in” to the work as though he were an old hand at the business.
This mill is complete with all the modern machinery for milling, and they
are prepared to do all kinds of custom work in the way of grinding corn and
feed. The mill is all new throughout, and is a great convenience to the farmers
in this section of the country. It also benefits the business of the town, from
the fact that it brings that class of people here who would be compelled to go
elsewhere if Farmington did not possess an institution of this kind. Messrs.
Donnell and Barton keep constantly on hand the very best grade of flour and
meal, in exchange for grain. These gentlemen deserve great credit for their
enterprise and should receive the united support of the city and surrounding
country. It is the hope of the writer that Messrs. Donnell & Barton will
thrive and prosper to the end.
